the world needs a superhero |
|
Okay, this is slightly out of context, since I wrote it a week ago but I haven't had time to finish it off until now. -- Does it seem like I just like to write about disasters and deaths? :L Anyhow..., there is so much that needs to be done. Or so little if you think about it. It's such a little thing to need; water, food, shelter. But the task seems more and more impossible the more I watch the coverage. People desperately need water and food. Countries have donated so much money already. But the earthquake has turned most roads into rubble. The earthquake collapsed the control tower for their tiny airport. Planes carry supplies can't land, and if they do, the supplies can't be transported to the people. So many people are missing or still trapped. The reporter told a story of how this little girl was trapped under a building for two days. All they needed was power for a power saw to cut her free. How simple is that? two days. All because they couldn't find batteries. But that's what the situation is like for many. They need very little. But it all seems like so much. Too much. Aid workers are amazing in their determination. Given time, I'm sure their efforts will yield results and provide some relief to the people. But at that moment when I was watching the TV broadcast... it just all seemed hopeless. The world... needs a superhero. Imagine... If we had someone who had the ability to... read and control minds. If they had super strength. The possibilities are endless, and Ive already spent way too long dreaming up possibilities. But this superhero could pretty much right everything wrong with our world: war, disasters, poverty, economic meltdowns. You name the problem, the superhero would be able to find a way to fix it.
