strawberry moons

Last night was a special full moon.

It's funny how humans are obsessed with names, with categories, with classifying things. We have a name for everything. In a way, a name is acknowledgment. It would be terrible to not have a name; you would be redundant, you would not mean anything, you would cease to exist. Funny though, isn't it? How much power just a little naming word can hold over the world.

Anyhow, last night's full moon was called a flower moon; namely, a full moon that occurs in late spring, or early winter for us. It was also a partial lunar eclipse, and there are photos where the moon has this orangey red colour to it.
Flower moons are also called strawberry moons.
I like that.
