What if you were born in Africa?
What would you think about every day? Would you still have a sense of something more to yearn for, or would you be too busy worrying about food and water?

What if you weren't born Asian, and your parents didn't care about school?
What sorts of people would you know then? Would you be lazy and ignorant, or would natural curiosity redeem you? Would you still make the elitist exclusive club of prestigious degrees, or would it not matter anymore? Would you be free to do something you loved and enjoyed?

What if then, you never went to the school you go to, never met the people you know now?
Would their concerns never have been yours, would you have been happier, would you never have been hurt... or would your loyalty force you to do exactly the same?

Which inherent traits residing in you, would you carry no matter the life you lead?

What would happen... what if.. you were a different person altogether?

But you aren't, you didn't, you never, and that is 命.
