simplicity

If there is one ultimate cliched motivational phrase that I would like to always remember and live by, that forms an integral part of my inherent belief in the universe, is that life is supposed to be simple.

I believe that there is simplicity in life.
i believe that living should be simple.

Sometimes, its easy to forget this simple rule, believe that life is a impossibly complicated mess that inhibits you in every direction you turn.

People give so many reasons why they can't or shouldn't do something, but so few reasons why they can.
Why not?
It's too hard. It's too complicated. It won't work.
Life is complicated, only if you complicate it.

I believe that love is simple - you like them, and they like you. That's all there has to be.

"Oh but its way more complicated than that," you say.
What is? Fights, arguments, resentments, tantrums, break ups... these happen not because the love is flawed, but our approach to it is.

If you brush aside all human trivialities and petty complaints, you will find it obscuring a simple, blank canvas. Its simple, because all problems are man-made. It's blank, because once you realise this, you are free to do whatever you like with your life.

An analogy I used to always use and have recently forgotten, is that the trajectory of life is like a rock that is falling into a pond. Its path is steady, uncomplicated, drawn to its destination simply by gravity. If there is a breeze or turbulence, it's not enough to displace the weight of the rock and deter it from the downwards course. Eventually, it'll hit the pond, spread its concentric ripples, and that's when we die.

Life is simple.
Simplicity is freedom.
